    Short bio of EVAGHORAS L. EVAGHOROU

    Dr. Evaghoras L. Evaghorou comes from Famagusta District, Cyprus. He grew up in Larnaca where he graduated from High School. Following he served in the military as Reservist Second Lieutenant (1994-96).

    He received a degree in Economics from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (2000). He went on to receive an MA degree in Finance and Investment from the Business School of Nottingham University (2002). He then received a Ph.D. in International Relations from the University of Macedonia (2005).

    Today he is Assistant Professor of International Relations at the Department of International and European Studies, School of Economics, Business and International Studies, University of Piraeus. He was Lecturer at the same Department from 2009 till 2014. He has also taught as Visiting Lecturer at the University of Cyprus (2007-08), as appointed teaching instructor at the University of Macedonia (2006), at the Greek National School of Public Administration and Local Government (2018), and in a postgraduate level at Neapolis University Pafos (2020-21).

    His academic and research interests focus on the theory and methodology of International Relations, the strategic analysis, the international political economy, the defence economics, the Greek-Turkish relations, and the Cyprus issue.

    He is the author of the book “Greek-Turkish Relations from 1923 till Present: Theory of International Relations and Strategy”, in Greek. He has also published numerous articles in the areas of his academic interests in international and local academic journals and he has made several announcements in academic conferences. In addition, he delivered presentations and speeches and has written articles in newspapers relating to his academic background.

    Moreover, he is a member of the Laboratories “Study of BRICS States” and “Energy in Environmental Policy”, and cooperator of the Laboratory “Turkish and Eurasian Studies”, at the Department of International and European Studies, University of Piraeus. He is also member of the “Council for International Relations – Greece”. In the past he was president of the “Center for International Politics Thessaloniki” (2006-12).
